‘The Bales’ the straw bale eco lodge is the central hub of the site, the perfect sanctuary
for your group to keep warm and cosy, cook, dine, practise yoga,
host meetings or even become an impromptu dance hall!
After a hard day’s fun, have a good night’s sleep in the cosy shepherd huts.
The Green Escape is off grid so no electricity on site. Unplug and bask in the glow of the candles and fairy lights, keep toasty by the fire and know that you are contributing to a healthier happier environment!

The Green Escape has seven shepherds huts for accommodation.
Each shepherds hut has it's own wood burning stove and comfy bedding prepared for your arrival.

SHEPHERD HUT ACCOMMODATION
The huts are neighbourly, yet each has its own little glade for a bit of privacy. Open the stable doors and enjoy the birdsong from your luxurious bed. Keep warm and cosy all year round with wood burning stoves in each hut, supplied with wood and firelighters as part of your stay. Proper mattresses, pretty bedding, vintage décor & beautiful views will help you have a lovely lie-in. The 7 huts can sleep a maximum of 22 guests in 15 beds, which are all made up for your arrival. Travel cots can be set up on request.

Cute and cosy each hut has a double bed perfect for two.

The double bed has a single bunk above - sleeps 3.
*3 x The Big Huts
The Big huts are perfect for the family or group. In the snug at one end is a double bed. The other end of the hut has a large single bunk and a bunk above. - sleeps 4.
STRAW BALE LODGE
Nestled amongst the trees, ‘The Bales’ is our straw bale lodge which provides a sheltered hub for the group. Cook, dine and make merry whilst enjoying views of the landscape through the large windows. It’s also perfect for conferences, retreats and activities such as yoga.

Candles, fairy and solar lights create a stunning ambience with the warmth of the woodburning stove.

Have fun with the chess set and board games and a good old sing along around the piano.

The kitchen has mains drinking water, a large, catering size coolbox, a five ring gas hob and is well equipped with crockery, cutlery, kitchenware, condiments, tea towels and cleaning products.

The folding tables and chairs, lightweight sofas and bean bags allow a variety of ways to use the space.
​
The sustainable straw bale construction provides natural insulation, sound proofing, is fire retardant, and low carbon.
FIRE PIT &
HAMMOCKS
You can’t have an outdoors holiday without a camp fire for those nightly gatherings under the stars and toasting marshmallows. Ringed by seats, lit by fairy lights and festive with colourful hammocks.
COOKING &
DINING ALFRESCO
There are plenty of outdoor cooking options at The Green Escape to keep all adventurous cooks happy. First up, the Pizza Oven – the woodsmoke imparts extra flavour – it’s also handy for casseroles. The BBQ is tucked beside and new to The Green Escape is the tripod grill, a simple hanging grill that can be used over the fire pit.
The well equipped Outdoor Kitchen has gas hobs, a double sink with mains drinking water and plenty of food prep areas.

For a truly magical dining experience, feast in the forest on our rustic tables and benches. Breakfast in dappled sunlight or watch the sun set while branches come alive with twinkling fairy lights and glowing solar lanterns.
ZIPWIRE
Enjoy a 40m zipwire hidden amongst the pine trees. Super fun addition to the site loved by kids big & small! Simple safety instructions will be provided and must be followed during your stay.

DOUBLE SHOWER HUT &
2 COMPOST TOILETS
A converted shepherd hut is split into 2 bathrooms with instant hot water showers and washbasins, hand wash and hand towels. One bathroom has a woodburning stove for added warmth.
Alternatively bask in the sunshine and enjoy the great outdoors with a shower in the trees. So incredibly refreshing and you’ll be doing your bit for zero carbon!
Guests will need to bring their own toiletries and towels.

Have you ever had a poo in a compost loo? Well it’s no different from home except you ‘flush’ with a scoop of sawdust instead of wasting water. Bright, clean, odour free and helping the trees to grow!
